Here is a recent article that was online from GB news regarding the snowplowing:
Discussions begin on future of snowplowing in Grand Blanc Township
April 06, 2010, 7:57PM
GRAND BLANC TOWNSHIP, Michigan — To plow, or not to plow?
That was the question at today's Committee-of-the-whole meeting.
The answer? No one knows just yet.
After deciding to phase out snowplowing by the township all together in October, then rescinding that decision after a backlash from residents, the Township Board has to decide what it should do with the plowing policy that's been in place for about 25 years.
"It's a very sensitive issue," Township Manager Richard Dunnill said. "It is one that we are not responsible for. It does belong to the (Genesee County) Road Commission, but it is one we have provided as a service for a number of years."
The board's initial decision to phase out snowplowing was due to declining revenue. Trustee Paul Bush said that after hearing from some residents, he's not sure whether it should be cut from the budget or not.
"All of us have probably heard from individual citizens in this community, how they want us to try to provide essential services that are important to them and keep those with less money," he said. "Maybe (snowplowing) is an essential service that we want to keep."
Trustee Hans Rodgers said the decision over whether to plow roads or leave it all to the county is a more difficult question to answer than it sounds.
"I myself went and perused all the equipment last week that we have massed as a township over the years of doing this. There are several million dollars of assets. So to just choose plow or don't plow, is not an easy choice," Rodgers said. "If we were to just try to unload that equipment tomorrow we'd take an incredible beating, and that's an investment we made with taxpayers' money. "
Dunnill said the board needs to look at this issue now so that they can plan for the coming winter and let local communities know whether or not the township will be plowing their roads.
Reminder: Association dues are due by midnight March 31st.

children. *** If you have any questions, please contact us via our website.
There have been several complaints sent in regarding vandelism and items being
